The Institute is proud to announce the first round of the Clinician Academy!

The Clinician Academy is a networking and training program for clinicians interested in advancing their role as a community advocate and leader.

Portland, Oregon -- The Institute is proud to announce the first round of the Clinician Academy, starting January 6, 2017. The Clinician Academy is a networking and training program for clinicians interested in advancing their role as a community advocate and leader. Participation in the Academy was open to experienced physicians, new physicians, residents, nurse practitioners and physician assistants across Oregon, with preference given to clinicians in rural areas of the state.

Health care transformation is accelerating; CPC+, PCPCH, the Medicare Quality Payment Program and many other initiatives continue to expand the work and role of clinicians. The Academy is an opportunity to enhance work that best serves patients and the community of the participants, while meeting the goals of these initiatives.  Participation in the Academy includes:

  • Pre-kick off work includes an introductory conference call, review of the Academy toolkit, and attendance or review of an assigned webinar
  • In-person participation at the kick off meeting, January 6th in Portland
  • Six weeks to plan a project that connects primary care and community resources with access to coaching and support calls from Academy Directors
  • Participation in a wrap-up meeting to present your plan to Academy colleagues
